2008 Goals

• Work with City to enforce upkeep and development of vacant Buildings.
• Propose any further programs to influence the quality of existing and new buildings in the Downtown area.
• Develop recommendations for Downtown beautification.

Commitee Mission:
The PLANNING AND DESIGN COMMITTEE shall plan and implement projects to improve the physical appearance and promote an inviting and attractive atmosphere and quality of life in the Historic Downtown, including but not limited to recommendations for and support of City ordinances, the coordination of Historic Downtown beautification, cleanliness, architectural rehabilitation, streetscape and parking improvements, general maintenance, safety and way-finding activities, and the planning of projects which visually enhance downtown. Design activities also include long-term planning and guiding appropriate new construction.
